Endurance Inspired By Hope

2We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. 3We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” ~1 Thessalonians 1

Through the trial

Through the pain

Why need I to endure

Isn’t it so much easier

To just pull away

To drown myself in pleasures

So I won’t have to face

This evil day

This gospel

I believe in

It’s not mere words at all

There’s power

In the Spirit

And of that I’m not ashamed

The Spirit gave me faith

To believe

In the love

Jesus bestowed on me

And now I feel

So alive with hope

Of life everlasting

Oh, what a blessing!

And that’s the reason

To endure

Nothing in life

Is easy

Don’t bare your teeth

But look up into

His Holy Eyes

He’s your everything

He’s sees

Do you believe

In the power of the gospel?

Then this pain isn’t worthless

This isn’t hopeless

You won’t be left lifeless

If only

You endure

There is hope

In the trial

There is reward

In the enduring

Just to trust

In the LORD

In the knowing

God is the Faithful One

1God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  2Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” ~Psalm 46

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,a whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” ~James 1
