Sermon on the Mount: Satisfied

“6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” ~Matthew 5

I am so thirsty

I am so hungry

I am so weary

Of never being satisfied

I am sad

So I drown myself

In useless pleasures

I am angry

So I fill my mouth

With hurtful, stabbing words

But in the end

I feel nothing better

In the end

I am still empty

Come, come

All who are weary

Drink Living Water

And eat the Bread of Life

He will put your souls

At rest

When you seek Him

With all your heart

Strength and mind

You will certainly find Him

He will not turn you away

Thirst no more

And be satisfied

Isaiah 55:1-2
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.  Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.

28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ~Matthew 11

“13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” ~Jeremiah 29

Psalm 63:1
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

John 4:14
but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

35Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” ~John 6
