Sermon on the Mount: Salt of the Earth

13“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” ~Matthew 5

Faith

Encourages faith

Hope

Gives way to more hope

Joy

Fills the heart with songs

Peace

Helps endure the wrongs

Love

Makes all things new

Love

Surrounds the chosen few

.

Iron sharpens iron

One against one

Not to harm or hinder

But to help and save

One can warm another

It’s better not to be alone

A cord with three

Is stronger than two

.

Encourage one another

Faith to faith

Remind one another

Of the hope you share

Never give up singing

Joy fills the air

And lean on one another

Peace endures well

And above all else

Love one another

The greatest thing

Is love

Love saved us

So we can love now

Spur one another to it

Spur one another to love

.

Let’s spread it out

Over the face of the earth

~

Hebrews 3:13
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

17As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” ~Proverbs 27

9Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.  But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.  11Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.  But how can one keep warm alone?  12Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” ~Ecclesiastes 4

11I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.”  ~Romans 1

“13May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~Romans 15

“Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5

“11But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.” ~Psalm 5

“6Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~Philippians 4

“13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” ~1 Corinthians 13

“23Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” ~Hebrews 10
