Praises: Psalm 93

I’ve been working a lot recently, so much so I haven’t felt I’ve had much time for writing.  I was barely getting by reading my bible every day.  After a while that starts to take a toll on you, especially if you don’t particularly enjoy your job.  I kept finding myself getting discouraged and angry almost every day.  Then one day, my dad had me listen to a podcast.  I don’t remember who it was or what the podcast was (if I find out I’ll put a link in the comments), but it really brought my focus back to where it should be.  The speaker was a woman pastor, and she was talking about worshipping God and how important that is throughout all aspects of life.  It was so very encouraging and reminded me that I needed to be focusing on God, because He is my King and my strength.  He’s the one that will get me through every day, not me.

Almost a week later I read Psalm 93 in my daily reading.  You can almost hear it as a song, someone singing praises to God and putting fully their trust in their King.  It describes Him as being established on His throne, robed in splendor, and around His belt is the strength that holds all things together.  And All things join together to praise Him.  And then it concludes that because of His kingship, strength, and worthiness of praise, we can trust that what He decrees is good, and He will be a good King forever and ever.  Reading it just makes my heart swell with praise!

I hope this Psalm encourages you today!

1             “The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty;

The LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.

Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.

2              Your throne is established from of old;

You are from everlasting.

3              The floods have lifted up, O LORD,

The floods have lifted up their voice;

The floods lift up their roaring.

4              Mightier than the thunders of many waters,

Mightier than the waves of the sea,

The LORD on high is mighty!

5              Your decrees are very trustworthy;

Holiness befits your house,

O LORD, forevermore.”

Lean on the LORD, He will help you through today.

Happy Father’s Day Dad!  Thanks for encouraging me to focus on God!

God Provides Work

Never again

Will I see those days

When I could rest

Twenty-four hours a day

Always now

Responsibility hangs over me

My feet are tired

My hands always needed

And I am needed to smile

And always remember

What’s expected of me

.

But that’s alright

Everything’s okay

Although stress has risen

And I must sacrifice myself more

I’m doing fine

Because I’m doing what You expect of me

And I’m leaning on You

Every minute of every day

And all I can really say is

“Thank You, Lord.”

.

Working as to the Lord

Is a very good thing

Working with

The strength He provides

Is all I’ll ever need

Working under stress

He’s there pulling me through

Working with uncertainty

He’s opening someone’s eyes

Telling me what to do

Working, working

I know the rest is coming

When I’ll meet the Lord

In His sanctuary

I can rest and praise Him

And work another day

.

But that’s alright

I’m working for You, Lord

Everything’s okay

This is a very good thing

Although stress has risen

You provide me strength

And I must sacrifice myself more

You’re all I’ll ever need

I’m doing fine

You’re pulling me through

Because I’m doing what You expect of me

You’re telling me what to do

And I’m leaning on You

Resting in You

Every minute of every day

Meeting You here

And all I can really say is

“You are always good, Lord.

“Thank You, Lord.”

10Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” ~1 Peter 4

22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” ~Colossians 3

8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 9This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. 10That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.” ~1 Timothy 4

Work, Remember, Rest

I would love to hear from you in the comment section below.  Also, if you want to help me with inspiration for my next post, please email me (provided in the Connect page).  Thank you!

12“‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. 13Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. 15You shall remember that you were a slavec in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.’ ~Deuteronomy 5

I remember it

The day I was saved

When I looked with my eyes

And saw You there

When I heard with my ears

And it all made sense

I saw my sin

And I recanted my wicked ways

You called me out

Of a foreign land

And saved me

From shame

.

And for that I praise You

For that I have set apart a day

To remember You

And rest

To remember You

On this special day

To praise You

.

But what if I do not labor

Six days of the week?

From what am I resting from?

You say it in Your commandment

‘Six days you shall labor’

And do I sin if I do not?

If I rest more than I work?

Oh, Lord God, I want to labor

But my heart is lazy within me

And I have so very little motivation

So little to work towards

.

But for me You died

And for that I praise You

For that I long to

Set apart a day

To remember You

To work six days

And rest

To remember You

On this special day

To praise You

.

I asked and I pleaded

I didn’t know how to break

Free of this bubble

Excuses filled my mind

“I’m too shy”

“I’ve done nothing”

“I’m good at nothing”

“Why aren’t You sending me?”

But I prayed and waited

Once I stepped out

But nothing happened

I prayed and waited

And again I stepped out

And I waited

.

And You have granted it to me

A job in my hands

Lord I am so thankful!

Lord, I want to do the best I can!

Lord, I know I can do nothing apart from You

Please lead me on

With Your hand

Thank You Lord for work

That I may please You all the more

And

.

For me You died

And for that I praise You

For that I have set apart a day

To remember You

And rest

To remember You

On this special day

To praise You

22Bondservants,f obey in everything those who are your earthly masters,g not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.” ~Colossians 3

My King: The Throne Room

I sing
In the throne room
Of the King
Of my heart
Of my heart
I praise the Lord of the
Heavenly glaze
He’s a whole of a part
A whole of a part
Don’t stop to stare
The night is melting
The day is daring
To fair well
At the hands of
My King

I sing
In the throne room
Of my King
In my heart
In my heart
I praise His hand
That surrounds me
In a rainbow ring
That’s how it starts
It starts with
His mouth
And the faith He grows
I give a shout
And He works in me
In my hands I work
For my King

Don’t bury your head
Deep down in the sand
Don’t fall asleep
In the promised land
Trudge, trudge onward
There’s a mountain on fire
Full of promised surprise

Oh the glory
Oh the holiness
Oh the glory
Of His mightiness
Oh praise Him
The King of
Our souls
Oh praises to
Oh singing to
You LORD
You, King
Of my heart
In my heart

Kneeling in
The throne room
Of my King

Revelation 4:

“1After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” 2At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. 4Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. 6Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

“ ‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,’
who was, and is, and is to come.”

9Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

11“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

My Voice: If There Was Glory……

If there was Glory
Shining through my eyes
As I looked around
As I looked on you
Wouldn’t I want
To go on out
And look on all
I could possibly see?
Lord, let Your light shine
Let Your Glory shine
Through me

If there was Glory
Shining through my words
As I spoke kindness
As I spoke love
Wouldn’t I want
To go on out
And speak to all
I could possibly meet?
Lord, let Your light shine
Let Your Glory shine
Through me

If there was Glory
Shining through my fingers
As I worked to improve
As I worked to help
Wouldn’t I want
To go on out
And give help to all
I could possibly assist?
Lord, let Your light shine
Let Your Glory shine
Through me

Lord, let Your light shine
Let Your Glory shine
For all to see
And know it is not me

~

’14“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

’13“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

‘3“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.’ ~Matthew 5:14-16, 13, 3-12
